| S-PERFUMEŽ Kicks Ass! |
July 12, 2004 -- S-PERFUMEŽ did not come from a brainstorming session for a best seller in a corporate meeting room. It all started with an obsessive quest to create visible-invisible sculptures by a surfer/artist called S- (aka Nobi Shioya). In 1999, it was just another dog day of summer in Brooklyn... the artist realized how much he missed the cool saltwater spray of a clean-breaking wave in the Pacific. So, in an attempt to capture the sensation of that moment, with the help of master perfumer Alberto Morillas (his creation includes Giorgio Armani Sensi, Flower by Kenzo, Carolina Herrera 212, Bvlgari BLV and Calvin Klein cK One), the collaborator on S-'s Olfactory Art Projects, S- started to create a scent that would immediately take him back into the Pacific swell. Once the visitors at S-'s studio smelled the scent, the chase was on. One bottle became two, two became four and so on. Thus the first S-PERFUMEŽ was born and a perfumery revolution had begun.
Because of its uniqueness and originality, S-PERFUMEŽ was 'shown' in art galleries in New York City as a visible-invisible sculpture reminiscent of the powerful Pacific waves. Before S- was drawn into the world of fragrances his art had always been influenced by surfing, surfers and their unique lifestyle in various dimensions, technically and spiritually. The first S-PERFUMEŽ was a perfect tribute to the surf world which has fueled S-'s inspiration for many years. Since S-PERFUMEŽ was 'formally' launched 4 years ago, numerous friends in art, surf and fragrance industry, including visual artists, surfers, surfboard shapers, perfumers, scientists and fragrance evaluators, have helped S- shape this new art and venture. Thus, among thousands of fragrances in the world, S-PERFUMEŽ became the most creative fragrance house with an edge and style.
S-PERFUMEŽ is always ready for what the goliaths would never have the guts for - taking the art of perfumery to unknown heights, like the swells of Mavericks and Jaws Maui!
